In Yin yoga, the poses are held for a long period of time — typically three to five minutes or longer — to target the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, rather than focus on the muscles. As a result, the poses are more passive holds with little active engagement of the muscles. Yin yoga is a perfect complement to more active classes. This relatively new yoga style is rooted in Chinese traditional medicine and targets the connective tissue of the body (tendons, fascia, and ligaments). It is a gentle and slow-paced class, which is practiced on the floor. Postures are held for several minutes, playing with the edge of comfort. The goal is to find stillness, increase circulation in the joints, and improve flexibility. Yin is also believed to stimulate certain meridians (energy lines) in the body, leading to better overall health. My name is Elena ,i'm 40 years old and i'm teaching yoga for 5 years . I'm a certified yoga for trauma teacher. Yin yoga is a slow peaced practice that focuses on deep stretching of muscle ,deep opening parts of your body. This practice hepls with managing stress , anxiety and releasing trauma . I will guide you with kindness and gentleness into a deep connection with yourself trough out the practice. You will feel states of deep relaxation and overall wellbeing.
